Additional Information:

This is the infamous Nasa bedrest study. There are several different studies with one or two recruiting at a time. The main study lasts about 115 to 119 days and pays around $17,500 plus travel expense reimbursement.

When you check in for the study, there is a week and a half period at which point you prepare for the bed rest part of the study.  The bed rest portion is 90 days and then you will have about two weeks of recovery before you are discharged.  There are a few outpatients during the year following your discharge but the travel is arranged and paid for.

They also have shorter studies.  There have been numerous documentaries and news reports about the Nasa Bedrest Study.
